Elisabeth Anne Davis

I had the privilege of meeting my cousin Julie and her husband's new baby a couple weeks ago. Her name is Elisabeth Anne and they just adopted her from China about two months ago (though the process started over a year before that!). It was extra special for me to meet her because of my time and interest in China. Here is a picture of Julie holding me when I was a baby, and a couple of more recent ones with me holding her new baby.

Beth and I

Here's a picture from my trip to Savannah of Beth and I. It was great to be able to be with her and the fam for a few days. I don't know how she does it all! She washes the dishes by hand all the time, changes diapers, feeds kids, deals with constant requests to watch Elmo, and keeps the house looking good. (NOTE: see her blog for more details of her life and the strain/blessing it can be sometimes ;-) Oh yeah and she also cooks some bang-up food! Thanks for letting me stay with y'all Beth :-) Actually, thanks to ALL my siblings for letting me stay with them this summer!!! I'm very thankful that I was able to visit all of them at their homes.

It seems like old times...

Last week I got to go to North Carolina to stay with two of my best friends, Spencer and Jana. They've been married for a little over a year now, but I had never been to their home...you know because of the whole living in China thing. But it was so fun and good for me to be with them...Spencer has been one of my closest friends for a long time and his wife Jana became one the last few years of college. We did an assortment of fun things: going to the grocery store at midnight for triple coupon weekend (Jana got over $50 worth of stuff for what should have been about $3, but the store over charged her for a couple things, so it was more like $4...still pretty awesome though, huh?), playing golf and tennis, dumpster diving for some cool stuff, eating good food, celebrating Jana's birthday and doing a lot of hanging out. I am very thankful for them :-)

Then after I got back from their house, we had a reunion of sorts at the BSU on Thursday. It was really good to see even more of my friends...it was a great night. Unfortunately, some really cool people like Micah couldn't come though. But here are some more pictures from the night:
