This past Saturday I spent the day in Zhengzhou with my friend Brian and a random student we met named Betty. Her English is really good, which as a freshman is very impressive. Its funny, China being what it is, you wouldn't expect to see many Christmas decorations or hear much Christmas music. But as you can see, they do decorate and if you were in the stores you would hear them playing all the Christmas carols you know and love back in America. How bizarre. Now, if only they wanted to celebrate Christmas for the right reason and not because they just want to copy everything Western...

Zhengzhou

Like the pictures you've put up. To look at the Christmas decorations you really wouldn't know that you're not in America! Keep up the good work with your teaching. Oh, and which of the gifts was it that you'd had your eye on: the statue thing or the pillow looking thing?
